Acetaminophen Dosages
Conversion Note: 5 ml = 1 tsp. We dose acetaminophen based on a child’s weight. We included the age category because that makes it easier to find your child’s position on the chart.
Age 1-3 mos
Weight 8-11 lbs
then you should give:
- 1.25ml Infant’s Suspension (40 mg / 1.25 ml)
Age 4-11 mos
Weight 12-17 lbs
then you should give:
- 2.5ml Infant’s Suspension (40 mg / 1.25 ml)
Age 12-23 mos
Weight 18-23 lbs
then you should give either:
- 3.75ml Infant’s Suspension (40 mg / 1.25 ml) –OR–
- ¾ tsp Children’s Suspension (160 mg / 5 ml)
Age 2-3 yrs
Weight 24-35 lbs
then you should give either:
- 5.0ml Infant’s Suspension (40 mg / 1.25 ml) –OR–
- 1 tsp Children’s Suspension (160 mg / 5 ml) –OR–
- 2 tabs Chewable Tablets (80 mg)
